About Sankt Helene

History

Sankt Helene was founded in 1991 in the surrounding area of the former farmhose Vieholmgård.
The history of the farm goes as far back as 1894, long before tourists found their way to the beautiful beaches of Tisvildeleje. The holiday parc emerged at the thought of replacing the old Youth Hostel of Tisvildeleje, but ambitions took over and it became Sankt Helene Holiday Parc as we know it today. With support from a holiday foundation in Denmark with a loan of 60 mio. dkk. Sankt Helene opened with 40 family rooms, 25 holiday apartments, and 28 holiday cabions. The initiative came from a local politician Erik Nørgaard Sørensen and he is still to be found on the board of Sankt Helene along with other local representatives from organisations with an interest in Sankt Helene. The hosts have also been the same since 1991 when Stanna and Karsten Øland came down from the sky by parachute.
It is under their leadership that Sankt Helene in 2001 opened the doors of the new Restaurant Sofie overviewing the fields. There has also been built 3 additional conference rooms and all accommodation facilities has been refurnished within the latest years.
Every year its project to keep Sankt Helene up-to-date. Sankt Helene has had their share of stamgæster; groups or families who come again and again.

Quality Labels and Classifications / Stars

The quality label we have had for the longest time ist "Green Key", a label for companys who want to make a difference when it comes to environment and saving energy.
Before anyone else talked about CO2 allowances, we ran around on Sankt Helene and installed saving light bulbs, arranged for low-flush in our toilets, and made Sankt Helene a better place to work.
Sankt Helene is a member of 2 of VisitDenmark's quality labels; Cycling Denmark og Golf Denmark and we have quality labels from DANHOSTEL vandrerhjem hos Danhostel Danmarks Vandrerhjem and as a holiday parc from feriecenter hos HORESTA.
