Trips in the area
Sankt Helene offers guided tours in the area of Tisvilde with the very competent and experienced guide Christian Friis. Look for specific dates in the Activity calendar. Christian Friis specializes in artists and culture and will primarily be able to tell you about the personalities that have lived in and around Tisvilde.
Accompanied by our nature guide Niels Henriksen, you will have the opportunity to experience the remarkable countryside at close range. These trips focus on the beach and the forest and especially children are very welcome. Furthermore, ‘Tisvilde Skovdistrikt’ offers tours of the countryside that are open to everybody – look in the Activity calendar for the tours that are easily accessible from Sankt Helene.
Mushrooming
In the fall, you can find a vast array of mushrooms in ‘Tisvilde Hegn’, but they can be hard to find on your own. We have asked an experienced mushroom-gatherer to guide our guests – so come join us for a weekend of mushrooming at Sankt Helene! During the weekend, we will be preparing various dishes from what have been gathered in the forest and, thus, you will get inspiration for ways to use mushrooms in your cooking.
Our Nature Team will lend you books on mushrooms and fungi in general, if you want to go mushrooming on your own – but be careful; you need to know what you are doing before cooking any of your finds.

Groups needing a guide, either for tours of the countryside or for assistance for more cultural sights, should contact one of the areas many guides who specialize in various topics.
