Ecology/environment
At Sankt Helene, we have given thought to the environmental problems facing the world today and, thus, we have chosen to take a share in the preservation of the environment by starting in our own back yard – so to speak.
We use many ecological products in our restaurant, especially the breakfast buffet displays a large variety of ecological products. We are also proud to be the holder of the environmental certificate ‘The Green Key’ since 1997, because we live up to a long list of environmental requirements.
Sankt Helene hosts many groups whose common interest is topics concerning the environment or ecology. These are e.g. idealistic organizations arranging a weekend for their youth division, ‘green’ families seeking a ‘green’ place to spend their holiday, or devoted mushroom-gatherers going mushrooming in ‘Tisvilde Hegn’.
In the winter, when it has been snowing, we suggest you do some cross-country skiing in ‘Tisvilde Hegn’. In the spring, you should try to explore the various edibles to be found in the surrounding countryside and find that they can be used as ingredients in various courses. Sankt Helene has a lot of recipes for ‘natural’ food.
The list of ideas is endless, so to cut it short; if you want to spend a few ‘green’ days focusing on nature, the environment and/or ecology: You have come to the right place at Sankt Helene!
